What good comes out of the rising gas prices?

Posted by admin as Gas Prices

I'm a economy nooby and this is my first time on this section, but I was wondering if there was any good that comes out of the nation's rising gas prices. I watch the news and I hear the it increases the prices of everything and messes up the economy, but is there anybody that benefits from it or any kind of business? Please answer thoroughly. Thanks!

Basically everyone involved in the oil production cycle. Producers require smaller amounts of oil to get same revenue. Look at the stock market and all the oil company's such as Exxon, and Mobil are skyrocketing profits. Service company's as well. Halliburton is booming at the seams. Also you have to remember our importing oil friends. Yes they are now receiving more than ever compensation for there product. Requireing payment for oil imports with hard currency such as gold and not paper money also increases there profit margin.
Hence, i world is tied to the oil production and delivery which makes since that everything goes up if oil goes up. Very basic economics but this can be very bad for Americans as a whole. Hope this helped a little.

How will raising fuel prices affect the election?

Posted by admin as Fuel Prices

I been watching and hearing that gas prices have been soaring to like five dollars a gallon in some places or even six ! Will the candidate that advocates lower gase prices be a popular presidential candidate, why and what actions or plans should they implement in order to alleviate Americas' growing energy crisis?

Hard to say, though I think any sensible candidate will avoid making a promise on gas prices which may be impossible to keep if elected.. If enough people are incensed by this, maybe people who would not normally vote will be motivated to do so, which is a good thing in itself.

Why do gas prices not closely follow the price of crude oil?

Posted by admin as Gas Prices

The price of crude oil is dropping like a rock, but gas prices have remained steady or have gone slightly up in past months.

Why do you think it is so?

Do you think the U.S. Government have anything to do with it?

It has more to do with the cost of refining then the price of crude oil.

I think that the govt. is trying to drive down the price, so they can take over the oil industry.
