Gas prices are rising all over the US and it went up 12 cents here in Raleigh. Although I got lucky an hour ago when I still found $1.81 a gallon. I put 8 gallons in my car. I know $2 a gallon is not expensive for gas by my standards but it's the fact that it went up that gets me. I would like it to not go up too far cuz I am planning a road trip to the DC area on April 5th. Then a drive back home April 7th.

Gas always goes up in the warmer months, because there is less of a demand for home heating fuel, and warm gas has higher volume than cold gas, so it's harder to ship, etc. Don't expect prices to go back down again until next winter.

trying to find out prices of things in 1926 Oz, its my dads 80th & trying to do a then and now?

i am trying to find out costs of bread, milk, petrol, housing in 1926 Australia Sydney

The only idea I would have would be to go to the library and get a copy of a newspaper from that era (actually, if you can get a photocopy of the newspaper from the day he was born, it can make a nice gift), in it there might be advertisement of house prices, petrol sales etc. from there you can make comparisons?

What are the facts supporting the need to increase gasoline and fuel prices? Why is nobody telling us why?

Being on a monthly fixed income I simply can't afford these outrageous prices much longer and yet I am not hearing anything from our government addressing this.

Can anyone lead me to some facts as to why I am made to suffer in my golden years after having supported my government for so many years?

They try to blame it on hurricanes and anything else they can manage to think of to excuse their greediness. The fact is there is no real excuse. Profits are up to an all time high. Bonuses and salaries are at an all time high among the execs. Read the article.
