The government makes billions off of big oil because of all the perments and such that oil companies have to pay the government for the right to drill,look it up! Do you know that over 75% of the rigs off of the gulf coast damaged in Katrina have not been fixed because the perments are so expensive that it is cheaper to just build a new one!!

The oil companies are land grabbing, with Busch’s help RIGHT NOW, as Busch “bails”from office. Why’s that when they aren’t drilling on half the land they legally have access to now? Prices keep going up under REPUBLICANS when the oil companies have permission to drill on land NOW and don’t.Figure that out smart . Maybe no one has bothered reading that thing we call the Constitution… however, it would be illegal for Obama to tax the oil companies seperately and give out the $1000 rebate based on the tax. It is unconstitutional to impose unfair taxes like that and it would be struck down in court. Do not believe me? Try reading the constitution.

While I do not like McCain at all, Obama is offering to do something he cannot accomplish. He should have studied up on this before speaking.

Petroleum companies have actually been backing out of Arctic Refuge drillling for some time now — long before Obama was elected. You’ve been bamboozled by industry propaganda, friend. As for drilling offshore, residents of Santa Barbara CA could tell you what’s wrong with that. Let’s invest in clean energy and efficiency instead.
