When are gas prices going to stop going up and down?
Posted by admin as Gas Prices
Okay we have all heard about health care reform, and minimum wadge going up and no sooner than this happens there is an increase in gas prices! What gives? Will there ever be a similar reform or cap rather on gas prices? This is getting ridiculous just the other day I spent $2.25 on gas and today it has gone up 25 cents over night! Will there be an end?
I’ve never seen so many wrong answers!
The price of gas has almost nothing to do with what anybody has mentioned here.
It’s more about the US$ and the speculators…like Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. THEY control the price of oil which controls how much we pay for gasoline.
They’re not. Until we find a sustainable source of Energy, we will be continually at the Mercy of the Oil Companies AND the Oil Producing Countries around the World…& the Prices will CONTINUE to fluctuate wildly- up & down (but mostly up…).

The petrol prices increased due to problems with supply and the OPEC cartel restricting the production of petroleum based products out of their countries, ensuring that demand was close to supply. It may also have something to do with the massive rally of the markets as the economies begin to grow again resulting in a larger than expected demand for oil.
You may also want to read up about a country other than your own…such as nigeria.
They have had problems with militants which has disrupted the flow of oil from their country recently.
Cap and trade has been running in the EU for a few years and our prices have remained proportional to the US, while we have managed to significantly reduce our emmissions over this time period due to frugal companies making simple changes to business practices meaning they are just as profitable, yet more eco-friendly.

I really wish you had not asked that.
There is a bill that is pending called "Cap & Trade".
It will cause gasoline and electrical bills to sky-rocket.
The conservative estimates of what it will cost is $500 per month, because farmers and truckers and all business uses gasoline and electricity.
None of us have an extra $500 to spend each month.
It is very late, and I was sitting down to eat before bed, maybe I can come back tomorrow & write some more about it.

The price of gas has nothing to do with a raise in the minimum wage or health care reform. It is tied to the world market and also supply and demand. If the demand for oil is down, prices will be down, if cars are guzzling gas faster than it is produced gasoline will be high. It all depends on what the price for a barrel of oil is set at.

Cash for Clunkers means people will need less fuel and Big Oil isn’t happy with that. So they’ll get the money from you one way or another. But of course, they’ll blame something else. They still have plenty of unused excuses from the last time.
